‘Songs from the dark’ gives voice to the shadow. I explore the sides of life, and of myself, that are often banished to the dark. The whole process of creating this series was is in itself a practice of listening to those aspects of the psyche and the human heart that I tend to ignore, that don't fit in with how I, perhaps we, like to think of ourselves. So not just an idea, but a liberating turning towards what is, and a moving into a closer, non-conceptual relationship with some of the contradictory forces in myself, and probably in most of us. I used  a lot of charcoal powder in these… and water.

We all have unheard songs. The world itself has unheard songs. Perhaps it is time to listen.
